Boys Win at Herbert Hoover - Girls Win at Home Against Midland Trail

The boys varsity team won big over Herbert Hoover, 5 - 1, on the road, and the girls varsity team pulled past Midland Trail, 2 - 1, at home in matches on Tuesday evening.

Midland Trail took an early lead in the girls varsity game, scoring in the 12th minute.  St. Joe quickly responded in the 13th minute when Senior #23 Hannah Edwards found the net.  Freshman #2 Joee Goheen earned her first high school goal in the 44th minute off an assist by Hannah Edwards, giving the girls a victory for the evening.

The girls play their next game away at Herbert Hoover on 9/16.

The St. Joe boys quickly got into action in their game against Herbert Hoover, scoring 4 goals in the 1st half. Senior #32 Nick Turner had a hat trick for the night, scoring three unassisted goals in the 3rd, 18th, and 34th minute.  Freshman #12 Vincent Mays scored in the 26th minute, assisted by Turner.  Herbert Hoover answered in the 47th minute when #16 Corey Bird scored on a well-placed chip shot over the keeper's head. St. Joe answered in 57th minute when Junior #15 Quinton Mays scored Irish goal #5, assisted by #12 Vincent Mays.
